Operation Quick Response

In response to civil unrest and rebellion by rogue military elements in Bangui, capital of the Central African Republic, USMC elements of Joint Task Force Assured Response [which was responding in Liberia] successfully provided security to the US Embassy and evacuated 448 people (including between 190 and 208 Americans). The last Marines left Bangui 22 June.
