Operation Cobra Sweep was a joint operation conducted by the Iraqi Police, Iraqi National Guard and Company C, 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, of the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division on July 28, 2004. This operation was designed to cordon, search, and seize IED makers, materials and potential storage places in the Hay Muthana district of Baghdad.

Operation Cobra Sweep only netted a few small arms and no IED contraband.
