Adhamiya [Adhamiyah] is a suburb of Baghdad.

In mid-September 2004, as part of an Army-wide effort to give its facilities around Baghdad friendlier connotations, and try to resolve the issue of constantly-changing facility names, Camp Gunslinger was renamed Camp Solidarity, with its Arabic translation "Camp Al-Tadamun".

Camp Gunslinger was, as of October 2004, one of 17 US Army facilities located in and around the Iraqi Capital of Baghdad. The base is located about 15 minutes north of the Adhamiya suburb of Baghad, and near Baghdad's largest water-treatment plant; one important factor behind the location of Camp Gunslinger. It was built in time for the OIF-II rotation of US troops into Iraq.

Camp Gunslinger was reportedly at one point considered one of the least hospitable Army FOBs because of its make-shift nature; with plumbing temporarily running out of pipes set up outside of buildings previously looted and jerry-rigged air conditioning.

As of late June 2004, troops stationed at Camp Gunslinger were being supplied twice a day with food convoyed in from Camp Cooke, though by November 2004, Camp Gunslinger had apparently been outfitted with a dining facility consisting of a mobile Army kitchen set up inside a tent on wheels.
