I will just say what I feel about this. I have enjoyed this web site a great deal over the years. I cannot contribute $$ like I did before. If the cost has been $ 10,000 as stated, I think it is time to consider some sort of limited advertising. It wouldn't bother me one bit. If it means saving the site, why not consider it ? Just my ideas, not meant to start an argument....

To all of those who have helped out recently and in the past Bern and I would like to thank you.

I want to give some of my thoughts on this website.

We have a site free of commercial influence and open to the truth as seen by those who had lived it. We have a site supported willingly by it's members that believed in what the site is doing.

I do not know if what we are trying to do here has been made clear enough to the majority of those present though.

We are not trying to make a living by running a website. We are not trying to promote a social club. We are not trying to sway people toward any political ideology.

We have made a good start to what we hope to achieve. The site currently holds 4 gigabytes of data and has received close to 6 million visits in 21 months. This is not bad considering we have no budget, we have no advertising, we have no wealthy benefactor. We simply have a vision.

Our vision is to provide the single most comprehensive resource available on the subject of military history. We intend to do this from every perspective available and we intend to find a way to keep it online indefinitely for future generations to benefit from it. We lived it, we now write of it for our sons and daughters, friends and neighbors. We write of it for prosperity and for history.

MORTARDUDE we will not close the site. It will however be very difficult to expand much further with what we now have without more people lending a hand. No one is expected to help who can not afford to and we will tailor growth depending on responses to our current book giveaways and future promotions. The site is still in a very basic state of evolution. We have many plans to improve upon it in the future. We are now trying to figure out ways to meet these goals with everyones help.

Scouts out ! one more finger out of this gauze and I'ii send a check. Always loved History. This has been a great place for me. M akes me proud to know my grandbaby , to be , will read here some day and learn from some fine people about where we were and what we did. Welcome home and Thanks.
