Our site needs some help

Well ladys and gentelmen it has come to my attention that the site is costing our hosts an arm and a leg.. they are doing this site for us without cost or advertisments. and are paying all expence's themselves . folks we can't let them take on the whole burden themselve's we have to share the pain with them. This site let's us express ourself's and talk to each other and share our life's with one an other.. I have sent dave and bern a check and hope all of you will find it in your hearts to do likewise.. also chances are our site will get non-profit tax status in the near future.. PLEASE HELP IF YOU CANthere is a address in the donate collum on our home page. Thank You SN-E3

I am sure most of you are going to be quite shocked at the cost of running this website. I know I was.I'm also sure that most of you know that it has been a work of love to give something back to all of you that have paid a high price in service to this country.

Many of ushave expressed appreciation for the opportunity to share our highs and lows, exchange information, encourage each other , share our likes and dislikes and use this forum as group therapy at times. The site has been up for 21 months. Today I asked Bernadette straight out how much it hascost her to keep this site going with the cost of the server, upgrades and so forth. $10,000 is the answer I got back. This is not money coming out of some unlimited trust fund somewhere. This is money coming out of a working girl's pay check.And she has done it with style and grace and love. One helluva of a woman.

I am sure that when thiswork of love was created that David and Bernanticipated that times would be better andthey could make the money they needed to off set the cost.As we all know sometimes what we dream and hope for is just not what life delivers to us. Finally David agreed, with a sinking heart,to ask for donations.But a few people can only cover a fraction of the cost of what it takes to run a site like this. Although everydonation no matter how small or largeI know was greatly appreciated.

They are working on non profit status but that is going to cost at least $500 if not more just to file the paper work.

I'm not telling any of you that love history anything new when I say there is a history here that will never be found in the text books of this nation.

David and Bern are the last people in the world to put a burden on anyone that comes to this site. I think they have proven that over the last 21 months and $10,000 later. On the other hand it seems to me the only right and fair thing to do now is to prove how much we appreciate what they started and keep it moving.

First-off good luck with picking-up some greatly needed bucks.

Regardless, and even though not as critical of patriotfiles.com : "Preaching to The Choir" and sound and sensible logic instead of political bull being pretty-much unheard by many and/or "Pissin-into-the-wind",...I still believe that Ron brought-up a very valid and realistic point regarding our words NOT getting to WHERE MOST NEEDED.

The way I see things (apparently Ron also), unless one is a millionaire notable of The Press/Media, from Hollywood, or in politics and/or the only ones in America WITH A TRUE VOICE and actually able to utilize: "Free Speech",...little good can come from some of the best intentions of many realistically voiceless people. Truly a waste of intellect and a truly shame my friends.

So, and in Cop Parlance, I believe that what The Patriot Files TRULY NEEDS (besides money), is a millionaire notable: "Rabbi" publicly stating ANYTHING about patriotfiles.com.

Sure, it would be nice if our Public Champion and/or "Rabbi" said things like: "You politicos should check-out patriotfiles.com,...and then really get a good handle on what The Public REALLY THINKS". Hell,...it would even be if nice The Rabbi low-rated patriotfiles, and We being nothing more than a bunch of cranky and angry Veteran Nuts. MY point being that any PR from a millionaire notable is better than NO SUCH PR AT ALL.

Let me clarify. I was in a bit of a hurry when I made reference to the stats. I don't disagree with you or Ron regarding some forum post. My reference is to the Military History that David has spent untold hours preserving. Since it is required now for guest to sign in and log on if they wish to read the forums it is evident that they are coming here for research and information as many times there are triple the number of guest to members logged in.

I appreciate you wish of good luck but my voice was for Bern and David and luck is not what they need. What they need is for those of us that call ourselves brothers and sisters and those of us that are able to step up to the plateto help them and thehandful of others that have contributed to carry the vision of preserving what is a very valuable contribution to our Military History. As I noted before a perspective is found here that will never be found in the text books of this nation.
