Default Inalienable Rights???

Inalienable Rights???

Today (8/14/03) an ASSOCIATED PRESS article headlined:
"Thousands protest in Baghdad;
2 U.S. soldiers killed in battles"made me wonder about protesters. Presently, does Our American Constitution giving The Right to Protest, also include and cover all foreigners, terrorists, assassins, and even defeated foreign enemies worldwide? It sure seems to do just that.

I used to believe (since taught so in school) that America's Constitution only protected The American Citizenry, with all its Inalienable Rights. Though, and for quite some time now, it appears as if The American Constitution actually protects every living and breathing creature on earth (fanatical and murderous enemies inclusive).

Perhaps America's Leaders (of whatever bent), micro-managers and/or those calling-the-shots in every detail for The U.S. Military should go back to school? Then, it might be realized that: "Political-correctness", politically-correct warfares and politically-correct occupations are truly quite asinine in general,...and especially quite costly in Lives & Blood for: "America's Finest" and/or The U.S. Military.

The post-war daily body-counts and wounded in Iraq proves the above point very well and quite graphically. Don't you think? Plus, it should be remembered that no such waste of American Lives & Blood occured during the 7 or so years of occupation of either Japan or Germany after WWII. No belligerent and hostile (armed also) protests against the new authority were foolishly condoned or permitted.

Besides, isn't it insane to permit protests by people of whom many sport AK-47's and consider anyone in uniform a prime target of opportunity? No other country on earth would so stupidly and cavalierly put their military in such a precarious situation. Did Sadam Hussein ever permit these very same protesters to protest? I don't think so. Don't believe Ho Chi Min, Mao or Stalin ever permitted protesters either.

Maybe, if some of America's Leaders spent ONLY ONE DAY in such a hostile and confrontational environement, "They" might come to their senses. "They" might even come to realize that their foolish and naive dictates and/or one-sidedly-absurd: "Rules of Engagement" (favoring only the enemy) have cost the loss of American Lives & Blood over the years. Such is true whether referring to: Korea, Vietnam, Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq, or wherever next.

Still, and even though most politicos can handle heckling pretty-well at large gatherings, I just can't picture any American politician handling a hostile Iraqi crowd very well. I fact, I'll bet a million that if any politico facing what American Soldiers in Iraq face daily ever heard the word: "INCOMING" while surrounded by protestors, his drawers would undoubtedly need instant laundering, fumigating, burning, or whatever.

Regardless, at least that LUCKY (since not killed or wounded) Civilian War Lord (re. Senator or Congressman) might get a good taste of what America's absurd, one-sided and enemy-helpful (usually) Rules of Engagement help to produce. Hey,..."He" can put a new set of drawers needed on his expense account anyway. Then he can visit JAG smelling like rose petals instead.

The End

Neil
