Talking Lets see your challenge coins

Back in May, I had the honor of assisting a WWII vet of the 82nd Abn Div attend the WWII Memorial Dedication Ceremony in Washington D.C. He had tickets to attend but every hotel was booked for the event and he didn't have a place to stay. He was coming from St. Louis MO so this was a problem for him. His daughter came to my website and asked if any of us could help. I only live an hour away from D.C. so I invited him and his family to stay with me for the weekend so that he could attend the services. We had a great time, and I have to say, it was a very humbling experience being around so many WWII vets, hearing their stories and seeing the pride and honor they displayed for their country of which they defended selflessly. A few weeks ago, he sent me this challenge coin from his chapter of the 82nd Abn Div Assoc. This small piece of metal has more meaning then any award or rank I achieved in the Army. He actually thanked me for helping him, a man who risked his life for our very freedom and way of life.

Great story

My father in law is a WW II vet and the stories he can tell! Great story and you really did a good thing there.

Default coin,...

...I only have one special coin,...

...seems we had a green pea heare about 2 1/2 years ago, and he wound up be called "OLIVE" for a brief stint,...

... Well, after teaching him all we know including an infamous push up that he gratfully passed on to the rest of his platoon, he sent me a 1895 silver dollar that has never left my pocket since the day it was received, Lady Liberty on the front, and our grand eagle on the back with "IN GOD WE TRUST" above the outstreached wings, would post up a picture, but I'm not as high tech as the rest of you,...

...Brad, we know your in the sand box now, and wishing you the best,...

...
