The entire 1st Infantry Division (Big Red One) depolys from Fort Riley Kansas to South Vietnam to joing 2nd Bde combat ops. The U.S. Navy establishes a support activity at Da Nang to support U.S. Naval operations in Vietnam. South Korea deploys the ROK Capital Divison to Vietnam for combat ops they also deploy a ROK Marine Brigade to Vietnam forv combat operations in II Corps. On October 23 the First Cav begins Operation Silver Bayonet with ARVN in Pleiku Province II Coprs.
