Show me a gazillionaire who is also morally superior! Personally, I think he got caught doing something really stupid, at best, as I don't think he is intelligent enough to understand the profound ramifications of his discussions with Assad. Re-wind the tape, and put this scenario into the pre-WWII package: a US senator visits with a suspected ally of Hitler, and tells Hitler of the plans for the Normandy invasion. Maybe a liberal could approve of that sort of behavior, but not anybody else.
