Maybe they could have models walk around holding up lap signs & have the drivers talk trash BEFORE (not after) the races. Pretty much make the two 'sports' the same, wouldn't it?

The difference would be that the still have to race and in the race stuff happens that nascar can't control. Unlike WWF were there is a script. Nascar can give breaks to GM but can't keep them from blowing an enging or having a flat.
I would like to see just one race where the cars used sheet metal from the factory, current engines, and no spoilers. It wouldn't bother me any if All the Ford lost, It would mean that Ford needs to get there shit togeather. I don't like the handycaping. Ron |

Ron,
Does that mean you don't remember Richard Petty or did he do something that you didn't like...... Pack

Pac
I remember Richard . He didn't do anything to me.
What are you trying to ask? Richard has stated many times that cheating in the 70s was wide spread. Richard was the one that came up with the 1 inch fuel line to gain 2 gal of fuel in the system. Richard would richen up the carberator and leave the intake manifold bolts loose. Petty enterprises doesn't get any perks from Nascar anymore. I have no problem with fair, but fair to nascar is handycapping ford to the point that they are the same as GM. That may be fair to some but not my idea of fair. In his day, Richard Petty was most likely the best stock car driver ever. And when put on equal ground with the fords, Petty vs person, 426 hemi vs 429 hemi. The fords win all the time. It doesn't take a genious to figure out that 700 hp beats 500 hp. Ron |

Bristol what a weekend for the Busch Boys
Did you all see it Snow at Bristol today for the Busch Race? The pit crews made snowmen and were having a snowball fight with the crowds looks like they made it a fun day for the fans even though the signs on the fence stated no throwing items from the stands (LOL)
Just wanted to add that today Ole Jeff Gordon who in the past has felt ok with wrecking Rusty Wallaces' chances of Two wins at Bristol, by the ole bump and run, almost got in a fist fight with Matt Kesseth for the same thing that Gordon did in the previous runnings of Bristol. And Old Jeff Gordon was such a coward he was going to Fight Matt with his Helmet and Gloves still on till he was held back by Officials and others. I bet he won't get the same penalty Jimmy Spencer got for Slapping Kurt Busch a couple of years back. He's NASCARs pride and joy you know.

I live about 30 miles from the raceway. We have about a foot of snow in the mountains. It seems any more we have more winter in spring than winter.

Jeff Gordon and Mat Kensit
Matt is 5' 9" and Jeffie is 5'8" would have been like a couple girls fighting.
The hole problem that day (in my opinion ) wasn't the bump and run it was the 88 car. The 'has been' was in the way and Matt din't want to turn him. what the 2 did to 17 was ok, what the 24 did to 17 was ok and what the 17 did to 24 was ok, None of this would have happend if 88 would have just got his old, slow ass out of the way. They should , all three go kick 88s ass, Course it would take all three, Dale is not a woose. Ron |

Agreed Dale Jarret is a Big Guy! and Tough as an old Hickory Tree He cut his teeth at Hickory Motor Speedway there in NC http://www.hickoryrecord.com/servlet...R_BasicArticle , drove the Lady in Black and North Wilksboro with the best of them. I'm glad he is thinking about retiring in 2008 and not driving till he becomes a joke like some drivers did notably Darrel Waltrip. His(Darrel's) last season he almost didn't make all the races and one race he had to pay a team to let him drive their Rookies Car to get into the Show. Ole' Darrel didn't have any provisionals left at the end of his career and couldn't count on the Past Champion provisional either at the end.
