It's a great pity that a man has to embelish the facts for his own personel gain. Without knowing the full truth, as revealed here, many people could read that article and use it againstkeeping troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Larry, the Vietnamese are still after those most diabolical of all religions, the Mennonites. There are a bunch of them near me and talk about good people! They are pacifist, they keep to themselves and they take care of their own. Horrible! Here is some on Vietnam: http://peace.mennolink.org/resources/vietnam/index.html

Tamariki :
Here is the home page of the author of "Stolen Valor". http://www.stolenvalor.com/ There are usually some copies on eBay or Amazon at a reasonable price, or just go in a bookstore or library, if possible, and check it out. It describes in great detail how a lot of folks have lied about their military service during the Vietnam War, and many times have told tall tales, in the process, that many have believed. Larry >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> "A quarter-century after the choppers hoisted the last Americans off the rooftops of Saigon, journalists are still fumbling with their notebooks trying to grasp what happened. One place they should start is with "Stolen Valor: How the Vietnam Generation Was Robbed of Its Heroes and Its History," the new book by B. G. Burkett and Glenna Whitley. Hard-nosed, provocative, and courageous, "Stolen Valor" masterfully and on occasion gleefully debunks some of the popular canards and much of the anecdotal record about Vietnam veterans.....For me, a reporter who is also a Vietnam veteran, "Stolen Valor" goes on the shelf somewhere near Neil Sheehan's "A Bright Shining Lie," David Halberstam's "The Best and the Brightest," and a few other books whose lasting value is that they make more comprehensible some of the epic complexities of Vietnam, which was the central cultural event of my generation." -- Joe Sharkey, The Weekly Standard, September 7, 1998 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
