It's 6:15 AM. I'm at work and had to drive 1+1/2 hours to get here through sleet and freezing rain. Normally it only takes me 35-40 minutes. I plan on leaving early to avoid what I'm sure will be a horrendous rush hour. Driving in MA is no picnic even in good weather. Toss in this crap and you've got a recipe for disaster.

Well its over now - just lake effect snow now. Got 8.8-10" overnight. Winds 25-35 mph rough sledding. Got up this morning and found huge drifts 5.5' high across my driveway and snow up to our kitchen window. Spend two hours plowing out the drive and have to figure out where to put all that snow. If the winds kick up again all that stuff will blow back onto the drive.

But all and all - it was a good day. Hope you are all having one as well.

The big snow started early this morning. It's still snowing now and we have about 2'. The expectation is 3' by the time this ends. Tried to plow the driveway and the plow is now stuck ON snow crosswise in the road. Yes, you can get stuck on snow. Kinda like spinning in the sand until your car is buried to the frame. Same deal only digging is a lot colder. Gonna go out and free it up later. It's tough when there is no place to put the snow. All the roads in the county are closed so I don't expect a road plow for a while. (Seasonal dead end road)

We ended up with 9" of a sleet-snow combination and my damned snow blower died right in the middle of it! Took me 2 hours to get home from work yesterday and another 1.5 hours to get in this morning. Damn! This sucks!

Well, we got ours. Not as bad as some other parts of the state.
Mother saw fit to dump some snow followed by hours of sleet and then topped it off with some more snow. Some pretty heavy stuff to move around. Total was about 10 inches. Took some doing to get the back steps cleaned, driveway wasn't to bad with the help of my snow thrower. Dug the neighbors out of the heavy stuff the plow so nicely leaves behind. Today will be the touch up stuff if and when the wind stops blowing.
It's hovering around 10 degrees and the wind chill brings it down to -3 degrees.

Blue sky and 11 deg. 20 mph wind and gusts to 30. What a view...32-36" of snow depending on where you measure. Stuck the plow a second time in a friends driveway. There was so much snow no one could keep up. All the roads in the county were closed. I guess we were due.

We got about a foot here. Took my X-C skis to work yesterday and skied on my lunch break while the snow was coming down heavy!!! Whooo!!!

Travel was OK going to and from work for the most part but got stuck in the snow about 3 doors from home last night coming home from work.

It was 27 degrees here in the Sunny Florida panhandle this morning.

Definitely NOT what I'm living here for!

But...my day was made brighter when I found this.
