Smile Looking for Veterans

Hello. I'm a junior at South Charleston High School, in South Charleston, WV. I'm working on a history report where I have to interview (or ask 15 questions) to a war veteran. I'm looking for a veteran of World War II, the Korean War, or the Vietnam War. If you are a veteran and are willing to let me ask you these 15 questions, please e-mail me back at XocutelilashoX@aol.com or skiierbabe247@charter.net or post a reply here.
Thank you!

Default SkiierBabe....

Why don't you list your questions HERE?

Thusly, you'll probably get more answers than even wanted.

I am a Vietnam vet and retired with 21+ years service. I'd be glad to answer your questions ... are you ready for the answers? lol

I also think you would get better response if you listed them here. ... the questions that is.

Post That's A Great Idea

Skierbabe,

Make a list of questions you would like answered.

1. 2. 3. and let all the veterans take a shot at it.

Some of us were in combat and some were not. But all had to go through basic, and put up with military hurry up and wait, etc.

We are all proud that we served. And most of us would probably do it again.

Take Care and do a good job of formulating the questions.

Keith

SkiierBabe,

I may not have 15 answers but I will give you what I can.
Ask them.

For anyone in WWII, the Korean War, or the Vietnam War:
I am doing an interview as you can see...these are the questions I am asking. If you want to answer these: please post them on here or e-mail them to either skiierbabe247@charter.net or xocutelilashox@aol.com Thank you all!

When I got to gathering all the basic information I need to include and then my question in general, I?ve came up with more than 15. If you don?t want to answer a question, just leave it blank, that is no problem. If you don?t understand a question, please e-mail me back and let me know. If there are any stories you?d like to share, please feel free to share those as well. This is a big project and I thank you very much for being willing to help me out!

1.What is your name?
2.What is your birthday?
3.Where do you currently live?
4.Is there any background information about you and your family want to include? (married? children? Anything you did before you went to war that helped you survive? ect.)
5.Where did you grow up?
6.What kind of life did you have before you served?
7.What service did you serve?
8.When and in what war did you serve?
9.Where did you serve?
10.What kind of actions did you serve?
11.Why did you choose to serve in this service?
12.In your unit, how many returned home?
13.Do you keep in contact with anyone you served with?
14.How long after you got back home did it take you to get your life back to normal?
15.How long were you in the service?
16.How long were you in country?
17.Were you wounded?
18.What was the item(s) you valued the most when they were sent to you during war?
19.What was your opinion of the reason for war?
20.What was your opinion of going to war?
21.Did you volunteer or were you drafted?
22.Do you have any kids or grandkids?
23.What is the one message you would leave to them or anyone else?

Anything else you'd like to tell me or add in I'd be happy to add into my presentation!

Skier;

There are alot of questions on your format that you want/ need answered.

You came to one of the best sites for answers.

The one that got me most is #14.

A Vet will never be NORMAL again.

ALOT think they are and with the help that they get they almost.

What you really need to find and to tell the Good/Baad/ and the ugly is a Marine, or Ground forces Army. and become friends with him/her and that person will open up to you and you will win a woppin prize.

That prize will be RESPECT for Each and Everyone in Uniform of the United States Military.

I was in Nam for 3 and one half years, in the US Navy, but my stories couldnt come near the ones that dont or wont want to talk about it.

But surely you can find someone that would just like to sit in front of these things called computors and just chat and be friends.

Good Luck with your project.

enough.................
