Red face 1975 - 1980

After Vietnam , command of a BCT Company and my Officer Advanced cource I was sent to Austin Peay State University to get my Masters and then teach ROTC for 4 years there. It was great duty. A day or two ago one of my students called me to thank me for helping start her Army career --- she had just retired as a Col. after 30 years of service !That time seems like yesterday in many regards - just like Vietnam . Can't complain about how it all turned out , after all I am still breathing and ain't no one shooting at me BUT HOW THE HELL DID i GET THIS OLD !!!!

Default John...Let me answer that question for you

You lived this long because you model yourself after me......and only the good die young;
As long as were verticle....suckin' air.......lookin' down at the grass, and able to make it to the mtn twice a year, everything is cool!!!!

bOOger the humblest of the humble

"Vertical" pretty rare on the mtn.

Default Vertical

is required especially on the mtn. Let me clarify this. Crawling to bar is verticle as far as I'm concerned....One must be able to mix his own drink. People there have this sick sense of humor substituting good $hit for bad $hit and I'm bringing these childish antics to a screeching halt in November with an oversized can of Northern Whoop-ass...
bOOger who has a tendency to scare himself and still luvs his new truck

Thumbs up

Was nice to have her say thanks Reeb , just kinda shocked me that 1978 was 30 years ago. Met 3 guys from my platoon in Vietnam in 2005 at a reunion who all told me I had been a good LT and that was a hugh burden off my heart. Bobs truck is toast !
