Syrian Intel Rejected?
:cd:
A seemingly serious article in a very recent issue of The New Yorker went into some detail about how Syria has been trying for quite awhile to open a "back channel" diplomatic relationship with the U.S., to give our people what was described as sound intelligence on Al Qaeda, Osama Bin and so forth. It was said that our government has repeatedly refused to open that channel, though it would be extremely helpful in the war on terrorism and in finding Bin Laden, perhaps even with Hamas and Islamic Jihad, the roadmap to peace in Palestine and Israel or related matters. One can hear various officials making sounds about blaming Syria for uncountable naughty behaviors associated with what we're doing in Iraq, and the ever-present harboring Syria does of Islamic terrorists in-country. If the U.S. keeps this up, then Syria will definitely be close on the horizon of next-country-to-be-invaded, maybe. Anybody know how close any of this is to being true, and if so why in the hell the U.S. would be so stupid as to turn away valid intel we are not able to get for ourselves??? The U.S, wouldn't do this just so our government wouldn't actually HAVE an established diplomatic relationship in the event our people ARE commanded to pursue Syria, or would they? They wouldn't do this just so as to demonstrate solidarity with Israel, or would they? |
