Federico Borjas... Coming Home

Good Morning everyone. As the nation turns its attention on the Epic election of one unqualified person over an even more unqualified person, we here in San Diego have more important things to do. Sgt. Federico Borjas is coming home, and we, his grateful Family, Fiends, and Countrymen are preparing a final farewell. Just in case you are unaware of Sgt. Borjas death earlier this month in Afghanistan, please do not hesitate to read his story, and visit his Families website as well. Then, after you have been sufficiently briefed, you may return here. Remember as well, everyone, that we are not glorifying Federico's death, nor are we glamorizing War. We here at the Critical Hour, and elsewhere, are honoring his Service and Sacrifice to a grateful Nation. We
are thanking his family for allowing us to share in their grief, and we are reflecting on the life of such a fine young man, who inspired many people to do that much more, go that much farther, and truly blessed everyone he came into contact with. Many of you have been clamoring for information, especially on the Welcome Home and Funeral
Arrangements. I first want you to have the information provided by the Patriot Guard, who will be escorting Sgt Federico Borjas home. I urge everyone in San Diego to drive with your lights on October 27th, in Federico's memory. If you are able to, find a place like an overpass or the side of the road to stand at attention in Federico's honor as the Guard drives by. Lets do this right!!Here is the Itinerary for the Patriot Guard Ride:

ITINERARY - SGT Federico G. Borjas, US ARMY, 33, Monday, 27 October and Wednesday, 29 October 2008, SAN DIEGO, CA THIS MISSION WILL BE A WELCOME HOME AND SERVICE WITH MILITARY HONORS. Sgt Federico G. Borjas will have a welcome home on Monday 27 October 2008 in San Diego. Sgt Federico G. Borjas, services will be Wednesday 29 October, 2008. MISSION: MONDAY WELCOME HOME MEETING LOCATION: Keith's Family Restaurant9449 Kearny Mesa Road San Diego, CA 92126

TIME:Meet: 0930 hrs Briefing: 0945 hrs KSU: 1000 hrs. We will be going onboard MCAS Miramar, Marine Corp Air Station Miramar. Remember to have registration, and proof of insurance as well as wear hard sole shoes, long pants, full fingered gloves, a brightly colored outer garment, long sleeve outer garment, and a DOD helmet. We have not been stopped while entering in the past but you may be stopped when entering the Air Station or anytime while onboard for any or all of these items. Final services for Sgt Federico G. Borjas will be at the Rock Church, 2248 Thuxtun Street, San Diego, CA, 92106
A viewing will be held at the Rock Church, Tuesday 28 October from 1600-2100 hrs and Wednesday 1000-1200 hrs.

From Rosecrans Street turn east on Womble Street and at the first corner turn left into the parking lot.

TIMES:Meet: 0930 hrs. Briefing: 0945 hrs. KSU: 1000 hrs. After funeral travel to:Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, Cabrillo Memorial Drive San Diego, CA 92106

GRAVESIDE MILITARY HONORS:Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery Scheduled after 1200 hrs (12:00 NOON) funeral If you are unable to attend all parts of this mission, please attend the part(s) that you can. WEATHER:Monday: 82/63 Sunny.Wednesday 71/61 Partly Cloudy. The RC for this mission will be TKool. Please feel free attend any portion of this mission you can.You do not have to be a Veteran or a motorcycle rider to attend this mission. Everyone is welcome. If this will be your first mission go to the staging area you will be briefed there. Dress for motorcycle riding or dress casually if you are driving a cage. You may monitor this thread by checking the “Email me when someone replies to this thread “ bug and you will receive an email if there are any changes.
