Do Any of you recall being on the USS Denver, USS Whitfield March, 1970 thru April, 1971? We did riot patrol in Okinawa, Philippine Islands US was giving Okinawa back to Japan. Do you remember a marine being late for morning call and Told to jump over board and so he did and got medal for going beyond his call of duty. Of course, I was the one who called "Man over board".
I was in front row and of course right there as the incident happened. Do you know Phillip W. Breaden, James Grooms, Sgt. Ethridge, James De Grande, Whitie Willingburg, John Scalaba? If you know any of them ask them to email Fred: countryparadise@msn.com
