While in Artillery OCS, one of our Marine gunnery instructors, after making an error in the FDC checking our work announced that it was only the second mistake he had ever made. I remarked that joining the Marines was the first. In order that my enthusiasm for the Army be curbed he made me dig defensive MG positions around the emplaced battery position for the rest of the exercise. God bless Cpt Wesley T.
