Default State record catfish

Not sure how they caught this one but it is a new state record for Oklahoma, 140 lbs. This was caught in Lake Texhoma, near Sids old stomping grounds. If I had to bet I would bet they were noodling, people from that side of the state are rumored to be "Psyco"

catman;
How did they get that cat to hold still for the picture? I see no wounds on the fish. The cat must have been electrocuted or dynamited. They couldn't have brought that thing in with a line and a hook.

I've heard of 200 lb mud cats being cought in the Pecos river and being hauled out with the bumper hitch and rope but this is a first.

No sure how they caught it. My brother sent me this in an email. Regardless, that is one hell of a fish!

Default Hooking or Noodling

When I was about 10 or 12 my Dad and My cousins Dad went hooking for catfish, they brought one back that was a little over 6 feet long I don't recall how much it weighed but its tail drug the ground when held between them with an oar thru its mouth and gills. The way you catch them is put on a leather glove and a hay hook then tie a rope around your waist and go in the water. on the upper areas of lake Texhoma the banks are fairly steep, you work your way along the banks feeling for holes in the banks. The catfish back into the holes and sleep there, when you feel a fish you run your hand in its mouth with the hay hook and hook him then people on the bank drag you out of the water. It is not unusual to catch catfish between 40 and 60 pounds this way. The other way to catch the big ones is with 1-0 tripple barb hooks and cotton seed cake, tie the hook with 1/4 inch nylon line and a 1lb lead sinker about 6 feet off the hook throw it in deep water and tie it to the boat then sit back and drink beer, when the boat starts moving you have a fish.

The two ol boys look like they could be physco, but just face it.

It is a Figment of your Imagination. ( yeah right )

That fish wouldnt last yur campout very long, alot of fat that sucker has to swim off first.

Lake Lewisville usually has about four caught each year on trout line, they weigh right around 90 to 100.

Maybe these boys are REAL REDNECKS !!!! Ha Ha .

enough.........

Take 50 lbs of spuds with that one.

Talking Now that would be a small sturgeon.

They have caught sturgeon over 500 lbs in the Columbia / Snake River systems. But, that is a might big cat.
