Default Poll Stunner: Veterans Deserting Kerry

Poll Stunner: Veterans Deserting Kerry

A CBS News poll released this week showing Sen. John Kerry leading President Bush actually contained some devastating news for the Kerry campaign.

After months of touting his military record and his combat heroism, the Massachussetts Democrat is losing the veterans' vote to President Bush by a landslide.

Kerry has made his military service the centerpiece of his campaign, almost never appearing on the stump without his Vietnam "Band of Brothers" by his side.

What's more, Democratic Party surrogates have repeatedly blasted Bush for not serving in Vietnam - going so far as to label him AWOL - a charge the media was only too happy to focus on for weeks on end.

But the tactics haven't worked. Buried deep inside the internals of a CBS poll released Wednesday was this stunning statistic: Veterans now prefer Bush over Kerry by a whopping 13 points - 54 to 41 percent.

Worse still for Kerry, Bush's landslide among veterans comes from a sample that preferred Kerry overall by a full eight points.

Even the Democrat dream team presidential ticket of Kerry and John McCain doesn't steal the vet vote away from Bush, with the same CBS survey showing an even split should McCain defect.

Not surprisingly, coverage of the stunning poll result has been slim to none.

"It's buried in every poll that I've seen," Bush-Cheney spokesman Scott Stanzel told WABC Radio's Steve Malzberg on Sunday.

Stanzel said that Bush was meeting this weekend with "Rolling Thunder," a group of Vietnam veterans who motorcycle into Washington, D.C. every Memorial Day.

Bush will discuss "POW and MIA issues" with leaders of the group, he said, adding, "They are endorsing the president."

Word! on that Advisor. For what he said about his brothers that were still in VN just to pad his aspirations for political office, he lost my respect forever.

I would expect to see the Veteran political persuasion/philosophy to follow the statistical bell shaped curve of distribution to both the left and right of the of the National political highway center stripe. Normally these right and left tic marks are roughly 30% down the bell curve on each side but these days I would further expect to see that Veterans are snuggled up much tighter around the center stripe; my guess would be about 15-20% from center down each side. Liberals and Libertarians represent the data points bumps in the line way down the slope of the curve to both left and right-I mean they are the data point outliers/ lumps in the line way down the curve. To the right and left of these data points we find the lunatic fringe, call them the 5% nut cases.

So as we watch Kerry morph from an absolutely profound Massachusetts Liberal that is known to belly rub/get funded by the way, way left lunatic fringe, to a center stripe Democrat, it all suggests some kind of lightning bolt level epiphany on Kerry?s part. Or more likely, it?s all yet another iteration of convenient political falseness, betrayal to cause and dancing with the latest hot, gooie date of the moment. His post VN war conduct and associations, his book, Senate testimony plus his Senate record with regard to his intense and sloppy kissy-face support for the Communist Dictators of contemporary Vietnam and not the people of Vietnam, tell a scary tale about TJ. All in all ya can?t be two places at once when yer no place at all and I?d guess that the majority of Veterans know how to sort the fly shit from the pepper well enough and will acquire the real story and not some line of nose-deep concocted BS.

What's truly amazing about this story is that the media is finally catching on to what has been going on for months. Kerry never had a lock on the veteran vote, and the more his post-Vietnam record is exposed, and more his liberal voting record is scrutinized, the more veterans will bolt for the doors, if they ever went to any political rallies for him. The mainstream media simplistically believed that just because he was a veteran, all other veterans would fall all over themselves to endorse him. Wrong. Wrong about Kerry, wrong about other veterans.

If voting for Vets would be the standard, Bush wouldn't have lost to Clinton.....an avowed military hater and real draft dodger, and neither would have Dole. Kerry has a lock on nothing. Greater numbers of blacks, but not enough, are bailing out of the Democratic party.

Kerry walks into a bar in Mass and plumps down on a stool.
The bartender sees him and comes up to him saying, "Gee, why the long face Senator?"

A voyager journeying to the finite ends of hypocrisy will have many companions until the destination is known. Then only the blindest and deafest will continue along the path, and then only to find the journey has just begun and has no destination, just the journey.

Default Veterans Against Kerry

I notice that the media has, for the vast majority, refused to publish the letter from 9 of the 11 commanding officers that Kerry reported to while in Vietnam. In that leter, these senior officers all condemned Kerry as an ineffective leader, a poor organizer and planner, a source of derision within his unit and an overall slacker. I only saw this letter in one major newspaper and NEVER heard ANY mention of it on any of the major news channels of TV.
I will try a post a copy of this letter here, shortly.

Default Friends...

"Veterans deserting Kerry" shouldn't STUN anyone. After all, most Veterans were never with him or for him (way over The Liberal Press/Media's heads) in the first place. Plus, most wiser Veterans can see through all the purposeful and liberal-supportive BS prevailing in the largely liberal Press/Media, which unfortunately try changing America into some foreign-like and/or socialistic and coweringly head-in-the-sand UN type country.

Don't suppose our many liberal millionaires in both government and manipulative media actually thought-it-all-out and/or just: "Know not what they do". If Liberal Notables did, such might realize that capitalistic millionaires, whether from Academe, Hollywood, The Beltway or even the many in The Press/Media, WOULD SUFFER MOST if liberalism/socialism and/or any other such type of benign form of communism would prevail,...such as now exists in many countries of Europe.

Sure, governments and The Poor most often fare best UNDER Socialist Rule. But, SO WHAT...if of a vast majority AND NOT a political lord, "Connected" or poor?

Hey. Just a thought.
