Default Timeline, November 10th

FIRST INDOCHINA WAR:
November 1945 (Year of the Rooster [At Dau]): Ho Chi Minh dissolves the Indochinese Communist Party.

November 10-14, 1952 (Year of the Dragon [Nham Thin]): Operation Lorraine: From the captured Viet Minh supply base, the main CEFEO force advances to Phu Yen, while strong patrols are sent out along the roads north (to Tuyen Quang) and west (to Yen Bay), setting up blocking positions against the expected Viet Minh counterattack. However, General Giap holds his position on the Black River and waits for the French to outrun their supply lines; he sends out only two regular regiments (one each from the 308 and 316 Divisions) towards Yen Bay, and at the same time orders the two divisions surrounding the Red River Delta (304 Division to the north, 320 Division to the south) to increase their guerrilla activity and thus draw the CEFEO forces southward.

SECOND INDOCHINA WAR:
November 10, 1964 (Year of the Dragon [Giap Thin]) (US Advisory): Australia's Prime Minister Menzies announces the expansion of the Regular Army from 22,750 to 37,500 men. The previous organization will be replaced by a light, air portable division consisting of nine regular infantry battalions. The Pacific Island Regiment, the SAS Regiment, the CMF, Navy and Air Force will all be increased in size, and new weapons and equipment will be provided. Since voluntary enlistments can't meet the manpower requirements for this expansion, a national draft will begin in mid-1965.

November 10, 1965 (Year of the Snake [At Ti]) (US Defense): Two 2/20 ARA men direct fire against the VC in an engagement near Pleiku, despite both of them being wounded.

November 1965 (Year of the Snake [At Ti]) (US Defense): Operation Rolling Thunder: The US Navy and Air Force simplify their complicated schedule of sorties by designating six geographical areas, or route packages, in which each service will alternate strikes on a weekly basis.

November 10, 1966 (Year of the Horse [Binh Ngo]) (US Counteroffensive Phase II): Operation Attleboro update: The 2nd Brigade Headquarters, 1st Battalion (Mechanized) 5th Infantry, and the 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry move to establish a fire support base at Bau Co. At about this same time, the 1st Battalion, 8th Artillery is displaced to Bau Co. The 1/27th is still attached to the 1st Division and the 2/27th is securing the Tay Ninh base camp. A decision is made to open the road from Soui Da to Bau Co to save helicopters. There is concern about the threat to the 25th Division's rear from the Boi Loi-Hobo Woods complex, and the 2nd Battalion (Mechanized), 22 Infantry (500-1200 men) is detached from the 3rd Brigade, 4th Infantry Division (now 3rd Brigade, 25th Infantry Division) and moved to Cu Chi, the 25th Division's base camp. At 1314 hours four enemy hooches and three bunkers are located in the 1/5th Mech's sector and destroyed, and a VC company-size overnight base is found at 1455 hours. A number of foxholes and fire sites are found, that show signs of having been used in the last three days. Three OP/LP's are established for the night but no contact is made.

November 10, 1968 (Year of the Monkey [Mau Than]) (US Counteroffensive Phase VI): Communist forces shell U. S. Marine positions from within the DMZ.

November 10, 1968 (Year of the Monkey [Mau Than]) (US Counteroffensive Phase VI): Operation Daring Endeavor begins about 17 miles southeast of Da Nang near Barrier Island.

November 10, 1968 (Year of the Monkey [Mau Than]) (US Counteroffensive Phase VI): Operation Troui Bridge Cordon begins in Quang Nam Province.

November 10-11, 1968 (Year of the Monkey [Mau Than]) (US Counteroffensive Phase VI): A/1/18th Infantry and D/1/4th Air Cavalry, 1st Infantry Division, kill 31 enemy in an ambush in the Catcher's Mitt.

THIRD INDOCHINA WAR:
November 1978 (Year of the Horse [Mau Ngo]): PAVN ground operations in Cambodia quickly escalate, and Vietnamese air operations increase, including helicopter gunship strikes near Kratie and the use of C130As for pallet-bombing near Strung Treng. Two Soviet Petya II-class frigates are delivered to Vietnam immediately after the signing of the Soviet-Vietnamese Treaty.
