Attack on the mess tent
I CAN't BELIEVE THAT THE COMMANDING OFFICER OF THAT COMPOUND ALLOWED THE MESS TENT TO STILL BE USED SINCE IT WAS A TARGET ONCE BEFORE. THIS WAS SENSELESS LOSS OF LIFE. THE COMMANDING OFFICER NEEDS TO BE RELIEVED FOR POOR LEADERSHIP. COME ON WAKE UP AND SMELL THE DAMN COFFEE.

I felt like crap yesterday when I heard that. It's almost unreal but yet they got them in the chow hall. Those dirt bags ya know we should have glassed that entire area rather than be the targets of such a people.
My heart goes out to those families and friends of those soldiers lost. What a shame -

guess it looks like a suicide bomber is responsible for the attack in the mess tent. how does a guy get past security with explosives tied to him.

A mess hall on Fenzell Jones in Vietnam blew up with considerable loss of life.Turned out that the trip wire was attached to one of the trays you got your food in,and when that one was pulled out of the rack...BOOM!They had used locals for KP up until then.
