It is a real hard situation for returning Veteran's and their families. I had a discussion today with women who had family in Iraq and how their lives are changed forever.....There still seems to be a part of our society that just doesn't get it......

Right or wrong....war changes us......not only the Vet but also the family. We never go back to who we were before the experience.

It is hard enough to deal with being unemployed. It is even more complex when you add the stresses of being in a war zone or having had your loved one in the war zone. It is an extraordinary amount of pressure for anyone to withstand.

Also in todays conversation I found families are wanting to know how to deal with the soldier coming home because they go through experiences many of us can't even imagine. So at least people are talking and recognizing they can't just pick up where they left off. Life will require more changes.

I don't get it....How can we as a society expect someone who just spent a year in a war zone to fly home and within days pick up as if the last year didn't happen. Maybe we could call it expectations of "over exaggerated resiliency" No wonder some of us feel like we are bouncing off the walls.

So, I wonder, why don't people want to hire our patriotic 'hero's?"
Aren't they still hero's when they return home? Well, I could get carried away on this subject but will reign it in and keep it at
Just rambling thoughts..thanks for your patience with my opinions.

I like this site. It's a good place to spout off...:-). A lot of really nice people here.
Seems like I'll be running into you a lot Doc..... :-)
