Smile I trip to VA

was the best trip I have takin in a while..
My brother sister in law mom dad niece and myself all went to Va.
and we went to DC and I finally got to see the wall.. OMG it was like the best feeling in the world and the most confussing feeling in the world..
I have a story to share with you all.. Its kinda of a sad story but I felt peace and I felt good about myself after words..

I was walking slowly down the wall rubbing my hand acrossed it everyonce in awhile.. when I see this little boy kneeling down before the wall just a crying.. i kneeled down next to him and asked him if there was something I could do to help him.. He said hi my name is David and my grandpa's name is right up there and i can't reach it to touch it.. so i asked him his grandpa's name he told me i found it and lifted him up so he could rub his name and i rubbed the name with him.. after a few mins i heard someone say david.. We turned around and both my mom and dad and his partents were standing behind us.. i put david back down on the ground and he told his partents what i had done for him.. I told them my name and that my dad was in the war and was on the coast the day i was born and i feel very lucky to have my dad with me today.. The gental man told me that his dad was home when he was born BUT got killed after returning to the war.. I started to cry and told him my mom and dad were.. He walked up to my dad and told him welcome home.. I was already crying and that made me cry even more.. Then he told mom and dad that i was a special person. and that one day i will be rewarded for everything i have done and i will do in the future.. David looked at me and said thanks Tina you will always be special.. then his mom and dad thanked me.. and everyone turned around and walked away... I have never felt so good about myself before..
But I really not sure what i did besides help someone who need my help.. thats me I help everyone who needs help.. But anyways it was a great feeling.. I was confussed about my feelings to and still am but i will work those out..
I want to end this but saying
WELCOME HOME TO EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your friend and God Bless,
Tina Catena

Thumbs up Tina

Thanks for sharing your wonderful story with us...

You've been a special friend to all of us for so long, I'm glad you got a chance to visit The Wall. It's truly and overwhelming experience (especially the first time) and always is an emotional roller coaster. I'm glad you had such a rewarding experience while you were there.

Take Care and WELCOME HOME to YOU TOO!!!

Tina,

So many people today are driven by money or having material possessions. Our society is so fast paced and busy we forget to take a moment and reflect on meaningful things or share ourselves with others. You gave and you shared with David. You didn't think twice about giving him a moment of happiness and that makes you special.

Take care,

Philly
