"Peaches" (a Coy Dog) was feral, and I do not recall ever actually watching her eat anything in her 14 years of life except big beef knuckle bones I'd bring her from the butcher.

"Pecos" (a Golden mix) ate mainly rabbits, lizards and hard-boiled eggs.

"Scooter" (Pecos' sister) loved Old Roy kibble, mixed with warm water or milk, and small birds.

"Fred" (a Pointer) ate anything in a dish or whatever I wasn't watching constantly.

"Zapata" (a Chihuahua) never liked anything I tried for him, but always liked everything anyone else's dogs were having.

"Bill" (a Dachshund/Min Pin) sits at the table in his own chair and dines from his own plate with us on whatever Mom fixes, or he'll condone being served Nutro-Max canned (if it is nuked after being refrigerated).

Question Spoiled Dogs?

You guys really spoil your dogs.

I just feed them dry food with an occassional table scrap.

Scooter a 9 yr old dashund [16 lb ] Nick a 7 yr old poodle [25 lb]

True attack dogs.

I taught them to lick an intruder to death.

"Buster", a Walker Hound, eats "Iams" dry food with the occasional (okay, more than occasional) table scraps. He loves a sliced up hotdog with cheese on it.

I have been doing a lot of "dog" things as of late & have come across a great many people that do the RAW food diet. It is exactly what it looks like raw stuff, chicken necks, knuckle, turkey back, and a bunch of patte's (liver) ground up with a bunch of veggies, and so on. I gave it a try with woody.....he was not interested in the necks, I tried frozen & thawed, I had to mix in tomato's (his favorite) with the patte, he then woofed it down, and he loved the knuckle.
They (other owners) say that they where ment to eat this raw stuff, "never seen a wolf chowing down on corn, have you" and of course there is a great book on the subject - but i dont feel like spending $30.00 on a book about the whole thing. Nor do I have the time to read 400+ pages on the subject.
The word is that this diet keeps there teeth real clean. which I can say i agree with, woody lost about 50% of the tartar he had with just 2 knuckle servings. and yes i brush regularly.
It also is more in tune with there digestive track.
and supposedly there droppings after applying the diet is like chalk. Interesting stuff. Not sure if it is just a "cali fad" or what, I will continue to keep my ears open about the subject.
I am back to kibble (reg dog food) and the occational knucle, and he always gets scraps of veggies, which he loves, tomatoes, lettuce, carrots and so on. lol and right now I cant recall what the heck brand we feed him.

Talking Bernbenjamin?

I'm glad to know you brush regularly, but do you brush your dog's teeth regularly?

Couldn't resist, I so sorry.
