At least the sherrif waits until after the court convicts the criminal.
But there was no mention of any court action in the article at the top of the thread. It looks more like "ve vill round zem up und send zem to der kamp."
I can picture it now. Hispanic looking guy walks down the street and is stopped by the cops demanding: 'Papers. Ve must see your papers.' Poor guy leaves his papers in his other pants. He's whisked off to the camp & spends weeks trying to get through the red tape to get out.
This is a stupid idea, to say nothing about unconsititutional and immoral. If the people of Arizona elect this clown they deserve everything they get.

Here's a novel idea. How about we raise h$ll with Dubya? He took an oath to uphold the laws of the United States. Clearly he has not done so in this case. Or this...boycott businesses who hire illegals? Or is that just too hard for us?

Our County slam is overrun with illegals and most would love to be let off the hook with community service or assigned to some work program. Forget it, crashing the border is the least of their worries and if convicted of the felony allegations, some will go over to Super Mega Max in Ely for a very long time, or for lesser crimes to Carson City Min or if female, sent to the women?s slam in Las Vegas. I would assume that border crashing is at least at the misdemeanor level, and depending on pleading/due process, community service is certainly a viable option, same as the Gringos.

I would find the absence of a pleading/due process to be unacceptable, just need lots and lots of courts, clerks, JP?s, etc.
There is no reason to make a mockery of justice as is done in Mexico. There is little if any chance a Gringo will get any form of due process in Mexico. But more likely, like two Lads from Reno, their remains found some two months after a summary execution.

Their crime? Made the big mistake of taking a brand new Ford 4X4 Pick-up on a fishing trip to Baja. What the Mexican Cops want, they take, and some Mexican Cop got a brand new truck. His story is that Gringos sold it to him and has no idea how they met such a fate, ya sure. The Lads never got 20 miles south of the border and that was it for them-Justice, right?
