Post I'm headed for the Selkirks

I'm headed for the Selkirk Mountains of Eastern Washington to go deer hunting for white tail.
The Selkirks is the range of mountains that connects the Rockies and the Cascade Range and basically follows the the Canadian border from Montana to Washington. It is an Island of White Tail Deer in a mostly Mule Deer terrain.

Angry It was buck only hunt.

Didn't see any Bucks, lots of girls but no boys to shot at.

The weather was beautiful and the Selkirks are just beautiful. I saw grouse, moose, female deer, turkeys, but no bucks.

Great trip hunting with old friends.

When I shoot a deer I say:

"Hallelujah and pass the amunition."

Well,I haven't been able to get out much so far this season but my boy knocked down a real nice 8-point this AM.Weighed 139#,field dressed which is pretty big for this neck of the woods.Reminded him that I never actually got to see any meat from the last couple of deer that I shot and he "helped butcher".So will be putting back some prime butterfly chops(backstrap)and jerky for the shindig on psyco mt..Hope to add to the cache this coming week.
