Default Leaving tomorrow for Colorado

Will be Elk hunting from the 30th to the 5th of Nov, Also have Mule Deer and Bear Tags. I spent sunday loading new ammunition for the trip. 25 rds of 7mm Rem Mag, 30 rds of 6.5x55, 30 rds of 44 mag, 20rds of .308 and 20 rds of 25-06. I am finishing packing today and leaving at 8am tuesday morning. Last year it was record high temps all the time we were hunting, this year they had 4 feet of snow last Friday. Great Elk weather. Will be out of internet access but will keep in touch with LT on success rate. (optimist). Been checking the Colorado DOW site and my son Bill, the hunting reports have been excellent so far in the Southern San Juans because of the small kill last year due to the heat. The ranch family I know in Mancos got 5 tags filled in two days and says there are more elk this year than they have seen in over 15 years. I am excited.

Griz, Keith, Chris Have you been hunting yet? how is the west coast elk this year.

One of my favorite hunting spots

Talking Sid! Stop Sid!

You have tooooo many rounds of ammunition. You are going to start WW III. Limit the amount of rounds and guns before you get into trouble.

Default You can never have

Too many guns or Bullets. I am bringing extra for a friend of my sons who might come down for a couple of days. I use the Browning BLR in .308 and 7mag. With the Ruger Super Redhawk in a shoulder holster. See ya in 2 weeks

Default I,m Back

Got back late last night. Boy, driving 1800 miles in 2 days really wears you out. Well here is the readers digest version of the trip,

Sighted Elk Shot Same.
200 yard uphill running shot.
One Shot One Kill.

Websters version later.
