Perhaps to a Liberal, Middle America does appear to be ?extremist? or ?reactionary? or something along those lines. If so, then so be it, I can live with another Liberal assigned title from this site, I?ll just put it with the dozen or so others I have collected here.
Granted, so long as there is a hard science or medical science or other known global topic, US Universities are very competitive and among the best. When it comes to subjective liberal arts topics, or Industrial Management topics, legal hiring and promotion practices, I certainly beg to differ. And in this particular venue, the valued work product is not necessarily a well-educated and rounded student and that is too bad, but reality. If being an ?extremist? means seeing the need for a quality, objective, rational and respectful learning environment in all University colleges and for all students, than I suppose that makes me one and certainly not a Liberal. Off topic discussion
My thought is this. And I am recalling an earlier bruhaha here. This forum is for vets to get together and talk about Vietnam, mutual issues realted to our service, and exchange a lot of friendly banter. It is not a political debating society. We aren't left vs right here. This started as a comparison of veteran welcomes between our war and the new vets, of which my son is one. You are trying to take it off that thread with some indictment of the educational system. Most of us are here because we wanted to get away from places like the History Channel Vietnam site which has been hijacked by non-veteran lefty and righty ideologues with no interest in the history of that war. I have no patience with extremists right or left. I am much happier stuck in the middle with an allegiance to truth, rather than an ideology.

Same here, I am neither left or right. I am up.
