Question Ain?t Peace Lovely?

World War II officially ended on August 14, 1945! Japan, however, still had troops going through the motions on scattered jungle islands for years to come! Such, unfortunately is the case in most wars! The ?Big Boys? who start these wars are fat and sassy, sucking in escargot and bubbly, long before the grunt has even extricated himself from the gore of battle! Hell, for that matter, the victor (US we hope) is usually kissing the ass of his enemies before the last troop ship docks in some homeport! ?Only the defeated enemy, the war equipment manufacturers, and the politicos, profit from mortal conflict if you don?t count the VA that is!?

This current (open-ended) war is a splendid example, if one can figure out where it began and ended! In reality, it didn?t start with the Trade Center on 9/11/01, nor was it begun in 1991. It began in Eden and was solidified when the corpses of rotting vegetation and Allie Oop began to turn into oil! Hell, for that matter, if there was $$$$ in snot, someone, somewhere, would be going to war over it!

Ideology and brutality are splendid excuses to blow the other guy?s ass off, but ?GREED? is the true straw that broke the camel?s back! And just think of all of those cleaver ?Warbucks Types? who even manage to profit greatly from the aftermath of conflict - Again, ain?t peace lovely! ?Ah, now that?s peaceful, ain?t it!?

?I?ll tell you what peace ain?t!!? It is not a point in time when one side decides that the battlefields are overly filled with the dead and dying, or when some foreign entity (UN, NATO, and BRUSSELS) orders a halt to count their capitol gains! Nor can a war be stopped (not totally anyone) upon the decree of but one party to the action. And for the record, I have heard a ?Plethora of Politicos? declaring just that (Wars End), the only problem is: ?NO ONE CAN GET THE POINT ACROSS TO THE BAD-GUYS!?

?So what is peace?? Is it a state of mind, ordered by political types when their bank balances or power structure has been maxed-out? Is it a point in time when the populations will no longer tolerate additional mayhem? Or is it that instance when all are dead, dead, dead?

How about it Mr. Chiefs of State, how much blood will it take to make your point? And how quickly again, will the need arise for a re-fill? War is one thing, but war with a purpose is quite another! Oh, and for the record, a soldier is not a sitting duck. He is a combatant with a chance at survival! In a sniper war, his chances are lessened, as this shoot and hide enemy is a coward. But never, and I repeat ?NEVER?, are stinking snipers afforded the courtesy of surrender, three squares and a warm, safe sack in which to rest after a hard day of back-shooting! Nor do Chiefs of State utilize warfare as some morbid game of power, finance or one-upsmanship! Warfare is the ultimate game these days! One in which the contestants play but once, unless of course, the armor on their far removed desks is thick enough with ambition, greed and yes, even insanity, to defray all political ordnance!

?WHAT IS YOUR OPINION??
