Smile Some pics for the nature lovers...

Before you scroll down to the pics, let me give you a little info on what you are about to see.

Ruby-throated hummingbirds are migratory. Every September they migrate from the U.S. and Canada across the Gulf of Mexico to Central America.

Every April they migrate back again across the Gulf of Mexico.

600 MILES ACROSS THE GULF...NON-STOP...NO REST...NO FOOD.

The "width" of their migration path ranges from East Texas to Northwest Florida.

In the Spring, after crossing the Gulf and reaching shore, their fatigue and hunger over-ride any fear of humans.

The lady in the photos lives on the Gulf coast in Louisiana.

Now, scroll down and see the treat she enjoys every April!

My girl has many song birds come around because she keeps her feeders full for them. The hummingbirds know too they can count on her. One spring she had so many coming in to feed it looked like a hummingbird airport out there. But no need for air traffic control. They would just hover in midair until their turn at the feeder came and zoom off only to come back in minutes to feed again. All politely taking their turn.

Steve what is your secret to posting the larger pics? Are you doing a copy and paste or using bb code?

Sis,

I use a free photo hosting service (Photobucket).

You upload your pics into your account on their site and they generate HTML code that displays the pic wherever you want.

It's user-friendly, free, and pretty fast.

Thanks Steve! I'll write home if I need any help! How about embedding you tube video here. I used one on Bill's memorial thread this year but only loaded for awhile. When I opened the thread the next day all that was left was a blank square. Got a clue about that? Sis

Sis,

Sounds like the problem is on Youtube's end.
Perhaps the Youtube poster did something to it, or Youtube did something to it.
