When I was drinking (prior to 1990), the bar had a potted pepper (see the
Bolivian Rainbow) which became the "dare ya to death" focal point of many
early morning contests. Those little 1/2 inch peppers are *H*O*T*. They
sold an enormous amount of beer over those innocent looking ornamental
peppers. Don't let the "cute" factor fool ya.

Dave, I dunno about you, but I was shaken to my very fundament. What a
great job of advertising.

And I'm eating Tex-Mex tonight. What a fortuitous eventuality, as a famous
old comedian used to say.

That heatless jalapeno was developed by the Ag boys at Texas A&M, which is
mostly known for more useful innovations.

Heatless jalapeno? As Sal would say, what's the pernt?

If you would be so kind as to post your solution for soaking the Tepin for
Germination.

I've grown both pequin and tepin. They are not the same.

The pequin will germinate in about 5 weeks. I found the tepin the most
difficult to germinate. Since they grow in the desert mountains of Mexico, you
will have best luck by watering them and then starving them for water. Watering
them constantly will just kill them.
Neither species do well in Florida beyond the first year. They should do much
better in uranium rich fallout soil such as found in Robert Brown's ranch...
