![]() -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1 I was speaking with a friend at work the other day and something he said kinda hit me between the eyes. He said he returned to the United States via troop ship. I know a lot of people went to Vietnam on troop ships mainly on unit deployments, but I didn't know some actually came home that way too. That sucks. I sailed on two troops ships - one from Korea in Dec 62 (USNS Gaffney) and one from Germany in April 66 (USNS Darby). I came home twice on troop ships but flew back from Nam both times. If you returned via troop ship, what ship were you on and was it a unit returning to CONUS or were you manifested alone?? Also, what was your port of entry to the United States? I came back from Nam the first time via Continental Airlines 707 that almost crashed after hitting one hell of a air pocket over the South China Sea (Jun 68) and the second time I hitched hiked via Utapao AFB Thailand on a C-141 via Guam to Travis. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: PGPfreeware 6.5.8 for non-commercial use Comment: *PGP used to thwart Frego posing as OldSarge* iQA/AwUBP3OJ0qWwd94ur2ICEQKf8QCeKeh9uebDRwn61TFIBeaoJr 933yoAoJQG 5yDpDhXxAsS5SOqT5f6RCZqr =D2q8 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |
