Vietnam casualty buried
Vietnam casualty buried
(EXCERPT) Kym Klass / The Times Posted on October 19, 2003 More than 30 years after Chief Master Sgt. Charlie Poole went missing in Vietnam, the tears still flowed. Nearly 200 people attended a funeral service for Poole at Hill Crest Memorial Park in Haughton on Saturday. There was rarely a moment during the 90-minute ceremony that family members, or even a stranger, wasn't wiping tears from their cheeks or dabbing their eyes with tissue. It's been a long wait for the Poole family, including five children and grandchildren he'd never even met, to give him a proper burial. But on Saturday, six Barksdale Air Force Base airmen, led by a bagpiper, carried the remains of Poole - 21 bones positively identified through DNA - in a silver caske...
