Although the Chinese New Year actually takes place January 23rd, the London celebration will happen on Sunday. Make your way to Trafalgar Square where you can see traditional Chinese dragon and lion dances with modern music and dance, and a line up of visiting Chinese performers from the different provinces in China including the Chen Brothers Flying Lion Dance, Shanghai Song and Dance Troupe and National Music Orchestra of Jilin Province. Boris Johnson and the Chinese Ambassador to London, Mr. Liu Xiaoming will be speaking. A second stage on Shaftesbury Avenue will host performances from local community groups and schools. Tourists and locals alike will be able to sample authentic Chinese cuisine served by both restaurants and street side vendors in Chinatown.
