EXCERPT: "With Christmas approaching, I started to think about my first Christmas away from home. I come from a big Italian family with 9 pairs of Aunts and Uncles and at least 40 something cousins. Christmas had always been a time of extreme family togetherness. My parents, sisters and I would spend the time between Thanksgiving and New Years helping Mom, Grandmom and the entire clan baking decorating and shopping, so being away from all that activity and family was very difficult. My family took it very seriously when they were told to mail Christmas packages to Vietnam early; and boy did they ever mail early!
