hold a press conference to report the situation of the war in Vietnam.
These press conferences became widely known as the "five o'clock
follies." They were used as a platform for the U.S. to spout the lies
that it wanted the people of the world to believe. "We're winning the
war." "Everything is under control." "It's only a matter of time, now,
until the North caves in." Suddenly on January 31, l968, these lies
