Default ***VIDEO and IMAGERY AVALIABLE*** Coast Guard crews medevac man from Block Island, Rh

BOSTON — Coast Guard rescue crews from Air Station Cape Cod, Massachusetts, medically evacuated a man, from Block Island, R.I. to Providence, R.I., Thursday.

A nurse from the Block Island Medical Center called the 1st District Command Center requesting a medical evacuation for a 60-year-old man suffering from a heart attack.

Rescue crews, including a Coast Guard Corpsman, were launched aboard a MH-60 Jayhawk Helicopter from Air Station Cape Cod. The man was safely brought aboard the helicopter in Block Island at about 11:15 a.m. and flown to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, R.I. for further care at 12 p.m.

"You guys help out a lot when we cant get to patients," said Jason Trenn, the charge nurse at Rhode Island Hospital. "Everyone here really counts on the Coast Guard, and you came through again."

The man is listed in stable condition.
