Command of 3rd Fleet Changes Hands as Tyson Retires



Vice Adm. John D. Alexander relieved Vice Adm. Nora W. Tyson as commander of U.S. 3rd Fleet during a change of command and retirement ceremony held aboard the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) at Naval Air Station North Island in San Diego, Sept. 15.
