Polish medical student returns to hospital that cared for battle-wounded father
When she was just 15 years old, Aleksandra Wójciak's father, a chief warrant officer in the Polish military, was injured on a routine patrol in Afghanistan. He was evacuated to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center where he spent three weeks in recovery and rehabilitation before being transported back to Poland. Eight years later, Aleksandra would return to LRMC as a medical intern.
