John Cox explains why Californians are unhappy with Governor Newsom’s job performance
John Cox explains why Californians are unhappy with Governor Newsom’s job performance
October 4, 2019 SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A new survey from CalMatters found that Californians are “increasingly pessimistic about the future of the state and are more worried about housing and homelessness than ever before.” The survey released on October 2, 2019, found that more likely voters now disapprove of Newsom’s job performance than approve. These results were found by the Public Policy Institute of California, which were very different from UC Berkeley’s Institute of Governmental Studies results that found likely voters approve of Newsom by a margin of nearly 20 percentage points. CalMatters says that homelessness and housing are some of the most important issues to Californians. They are both ongoing problems, and California residents are beginning to blame Governor Newsom and the state legislature. Furthermore, about half of the poll’s respondents said that California is headed in the wrong direction. Former gubernatorial candidate and Chairman of the “Change California” advisory board, John Cox, was in studio to discuss the downward trend of California under Democrat leadership.
