Find a safe place, with honorable folks. Here is always good.

Hello Jane,

Thank you. All of you are beautiful people.

What I was intending to find out is what does other people do to find solace in their everyday busy lives. I attempt to pray and meditate, but I don't always find the time. If I do have the time, I'm exhausted. Having a full-time job and a sideline business on the weekends is tiring. I'm not one to sit around either. I'm very active in my youngest son's sports. I like to powerwalk, workout, do entertaining things with friends and family. It just seems never ending. By the end of the week, my neck and shoulders are killing me.

How do you unwind and still carry the full load? How do you gain a stronger spiritual peace? Do you give up socializing with others to have relaxation and peace? Do some of you have it all and have found a way of finding peace? What is working for you?

Post well,

You could buy a CD that contains the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. That's a good place to start. Maybe your fast paced world will slow down just a tad. 50 years from now, no one at all will remember what you do this Saturday. Listen with an open mind. If you don't like it, buy a book on CD by Dave Barry. It will not give you inner peace but when your laughing, it doesn't matter as much.
(I suggest the CD's because it's hard to read while driving to or from work, less accidents too.)

Stay healthy,
Andy

Thanks Andy for your suggestions!

I never thought of buying CD's to listen to in my car. What a great idea. Yes, laughing is a wonderful way to relax.

Again, thanks.

Smile Learn to find contentment in all things.

Contentment: Inner Peace.

Philippians 4:8 - 9.
Learn to think in a positive manner. Think on the good and the positive.
People who dwell on the negative factors in life will always be discontent and lack inner peace. Even in the worst of situations there are positive, good, lovely, pure things and praise worthy things to think about and let your mind dwell on them.

The Holy Bible, New Testament the following verses have meant much to me.

Philippians 4:11 - 12
No matter the situation you find yourself in, you can find contentment. Don't let the situations of life control your happiness. Practice gratitude and thanksgiving. Look for the positive and dwell on that. Evil and bad can sometimes be overwhelming but if you look for the good you can find it.
Rich or Poor, Full or Hungry, you can still be content.

Philippians 4:13
Allow God through Jesus Christ to be your strength. Because we can't find true inner peace on our own. We must rely on a greater power than our own to achieve inner peace.

I Peter 5:7
Turn over all your problems over to God because He cares for you.
Stopping worrying. Will Rogers said, "99 % of the things you worry about don't happen and the other 10 % would have happened anyway." Don't dwell on that which you can do nothing about. Be concerned but don't worry and sometimes thats hard but try it. Turn it over to God.

I usually don't preach but the subject sounded too much like a sermon title.

Keith

P.S. Come up to Washington and go fly fishing with Chris and myself. We'd have great time.

Thanks guys!

BBeil,

Thank you for the advice. I do try to help others out. I usually don't brag about myself to anyone, but I do try to show them there is beauty in the world.

I'm jumping from one project to another and feel overwhelmed at times. I just wanted to know what you all do to relax and ease your minds. Maintaining inner peace is very important for me.

Keith,

Thank you for the verses. They truly hit the mark. Fly fishing? Sounds great, but I've never fly fished before. You and Chris would have to give me a few lessons. What area of WA are you from?

Take care both of you and again thanks for your advice.

Talking Fly Fishing!

I'm still trying to teach Chris how to throw out a fly line. But, it sure will take your mind off the world and its troubles.
