Under the gun of public scrutiny again, United Way is once more being held up to light of truth! (opinion)

Not long ago, the ?San Diego Chapter of the United Way? was the subject of outrage by many who deplored the fact that at least one of the upper echelon of this organization lived the ?Life of Midas!?

This time around, however, in yet another chapter of ?Charity Begins At Home? (home office that is), an ex-United Way Leader has pleaded guilty to stealing nearly $1,900,000, some of which, this individual may have spent on race horses no less! As a matter of fact, one horse cost this ?Charity-Based Felon? a cool $45,000! ?Enough to elevate a lot of pain and suffering amidst those whom this money was earmarked for!!?

This is not the first, nor will it probably be the last time, that some un-caring jackass steals money meant to elevate suffering - money donated in the spirit of giving and brotherly love! But to use this pirated cash to live the life of an ?Oil Sheik?, or a ?Daddy Warbucks? is a slap in the face to all who empty their pockets to help the less fortunate!

The only problem here is that: ?This sort of activity may not be as rare as it may appear??
