Back to better times

When I was born and grew up it was in the country. We had our own farm animals for milk, meat, eggs and grew our own veggies (no chemicals or presertives), had a wood cook stove, fire place was for heat, kerosene lamps for light.

No modern stuff like tv, computers and stuff like that..kept the eggs, butter (home churned), and milk in the well to keep it nice and cold.

Harvest time all the neighbors helped one another gather up the crops in the fields and then later we had a huge dinner and the ladies had quilting bees to mkae good, warm, heavy quilts for winter time.

Meats were cured with salt not shrink wrapped and poisoned with chemical preservatives or the like, Canned the veggies to see us through winter months.

Yeah, it was a rough life but in view of today it was a better time in life...we had little yet really we actually had a lot; much more than we do these days....if I could return to those better days and times there would be no hesitation.

Doc I would join you in a heart beat modern times suck. everything is so materialistic. todays youth can't even converse unlesss they have a cell phone in their hands even if they are 2 feet away from each other. God help me but I don't know how I grew up so under priviliged no phone and just a radio and black and white TV

Just what the Doc ordered, Pure mountain spring water, Retreat is in center upper part of picture. This is where we will have our Psyco Vets Campout the weekend of April 18th come one come all.

In the center right side of the above picture there is a spot of yellow, That is where I put out corn for the animals, This young lady showed up Thursday evening

We done good with that land. Looks like pine beetles on that close pine.
