I hate the heat! It has been in the 80's here and the humidity is bad. It felt like the South (almost) here all last week. All we could think about was getting back up to WA

i agree with you!
summer sucks. the only good thing that comes from summer is that we get off from school. other than that...its really hot and humid.
spring is great for the bass fishing....even though you cant keep 'em, and fall is great for salmon fishing!
But winter...ahh
the greatest! its great when the first snow falls and you watch it from your bed where you are all snuggled up and cozy.
also...its always great to hear that a blizzard is reported and they give you off from school to enjoy that day. that never hurts!

Default Hot

Last Thursday we had 105, Friday was 104, Saturday was only 90 but Sunday went back up to 100. Today it is 95 even as we speak.

Thank God for whoever invented Air Conditioning.

Cool Heat

After I got used to Vietnam, the climate, which took about 3 weeks, just loved the heat. Actually when it gets below 20 I hurt, just hurt. But since my illness few years ago, just can't take the heat and have to stay out of the sun or wear a hat, I'm not a hat person. However recently I have become attached to my Plantation hat.

Three days last week both the heat and humidity were 90s, one of those days I mowed the yard. Took a half hour shower in cool water, got out, dried off, stood in front of the air conditioner and was still sweating. However, in an air conditioned car, riding around at the college campus' in the area, that's nice. Like reading a menu.

Spring 3 months a year and fall 9 months would be perfect. 3 months of Red Sox, 9 months of football, just right.

Stay healthy, "No sweat GI",
Andy

Here in Las Vegas the high has been over 110 for many days and over 100 every day for quite a while.
It least it's a dry heat with humidity around 12%.

you poor, poor, poor babies...LOL LOL... In 1980, in Memphis, we had 32 days straight of temperature over 100+ ( I believe 107 was the highest ) degrees and humidity over 80% during July and August.......it was, of course, a record for this area... About half-way thru that seige of HEAT, a TDY job came open at work, where I could work in Andover, MASS. and live in Salem, NH for six weeks straight...My wife was not too happy as we had a 7 month old baby as well as a 5 year old. We were also in our 7th year of marriage ( and I am sure you probably know about the seven-year-itch..it is true...) I left and we almost got divorced...After I came back, ( the Iran-Iraq war started while I was gone )..our marriage was stronger than ever..we will have been married 31 years this 11/25/2003... OH by the way, when I got off the plane in Boston, it was 71 degrees and 30% humidity.....it was Heaven...the tap-water in Salem NH was horrible..I got gut-puking-sick the first night because of it...I managed to eat lobster 13 days in a row..every night a different way, and it was cheap...a truly strange experience...Anyway, that was my HEAT story for this summer....What is yours ??

Enjoy summer...Fall will be here soon..

Larry

Default Just got back from the far north (Minnesota)

40's at night and 60's to 70's in the day. The skies were clear blue all the way down to the ground. Eat your hearts out guys. LOL

Default Africa Hot !

Well, My hot temp. story occured in June 1998. I was TDY to Prince Sultan AB and It was 150* in the shade and the water buffalo's for the shower were too hot till about 2am. The water temp then got down to a cool 90s* after you get used to the 150+ daytime temp a Jacket feels good at nite when it cools off to about 90*f that desert heat will dehydrate one fast so we were required to always have a canteen of water on us at all times when outside working .

Dry heat here, like a giant hair dryer. We got a cooling thunderstorm Sunday but it?s payback time this week and we?re getting it, no free lunch I guess. Soon enough we?ll be crabbing about the dry cold again. August is out notorious lightning season and I?m hoping we?ll get away without a forest fire, but we?ll see what happens. But I count my blessings I suppose. At a time I was working at the northern tip of Sumatra; PT Arun gas fields, and that?s all triple canap? rain forest about sixty miles south of the equator. There is nothing there but heat, humidity and all kinds of slithering, crawling and screeching critters to go with it. Arid Nevada looks mighty fine to me by comparison, yes sir.
