A New Direction To Political Hell?

Politics has always been a profession where anything goes! And those (in my opinion) who insist upon terms like ?The Honorable? are only fooling themselves!

Some years back, when I bitched up a storm over two national level politico?s backing of an individual whom they knew to be a fraud and a phony, instead of distancing themselves from the crud, they instead threatened me with political oblivion!

When I advised this pompous duet that I had no political aspirations and what they could do with their threats, and that there was such thing as political ethics committees and the free press, the tone quickly mellowed out!

I was, however, told by a staffer of one of these quintessential politicos that I had integrity! Before I could get the words out to thank this person, the individual retorted that I was not being paid a compliment, merely being told why I would not amount to anything! ?Maybe she was right?!?

Also, along about that same time, my kid was selected as one of the few internationally to attend a prestigious, invitation only, Student Leadership Conference in Washington D.C. The only problem was that the kids themselves had to raise their own expenses, and anyone who haunts this site knows that J.P. Morgan I am not! ?More like Willie Lump-Lump, Hobo Kelly, or Beetle Bailey, would be far more accurate!!?

My child had maintained respectable marks in High School, was very active in civic affairs, was a loyal and patriotic American (like most of your kids), and had been listed for four years straight in ?Who?s Who Among American High School Students!? He had also appeared on TV, the newspapers, and radio several times for his patriotism and achievement during Gulf War I, and was even quite friendly with several top military and political leaders during that brief but bloody conflict!

My kid is now away at University on loans and scholarships and starves half of the time to make ends meet! (A really good kid and a tribute to most of America?s youth!!)

However, when (some years back) he approached a huge Gaming Casino on the suggestion of the media and a local politician (a casino that my writing and volunteerism had assisted in getting started some time before), for a little help in getting to DC, they immediately turned their backs upon him and showed him the door! They abjectly refused (twice) to even talk to him, let alone assist him, even a little bit, on getting back to this national conference of America?s finest (kids)!!

So you see, it came as no surprise to me that the letters that I wrote to every senator (all 100), and about 46 congressmen, not to mention the president himself, on service and VA related issues (on behalf of "ALL" of America's veterans), garnered absolutely no responses at all, save for one standard form letter, that in effect, said absolutely nothing! And many of my letters were directed at politicians who went out of their way to garner the veteran vote by proclaiming their undying love for them!?

It also did not shock me that a presidential candidate (any presidential candidate) could receive more votes than an opponent, and still be declared the loser!? ?Hell, this is the New America!? A nation that a few of our leaders want to see assimilated into a one world, new order, internationalist body, with the United Nations at the reins, no doubt?!

Hell, many of America?s veterans are still suffering from service-connected ailments or injuries, even those wantonly inflicted through military, Intel, government and private sector experimentation (before, during and after the so-called Cold War), that in reality and under the law, violated all of the mandates of God and humanity alike! Yet many, many of these hurting warriors are still gifted with denials, endless delays, record alterations and destruction, and in some cases (if they don?t lay down and play dead, or roll-over on command) even worse!

"If you are offended by this revelation, be damned careful, as I can prove just about every word if I am pushed, and with the government?s own documentation I might add!!"

Is our great nation beginning to travel down a crooked, one-way road of ailing ethics? Do we now elect the lesser of two political evils, and not the best man (if there is one) to public office? Is our sacred vote no longer based upon genuine accomplishment, dedication and ability, but rather upon connections, bogus political correctness, perverted relationships, financial backing, media time, and pure-lying bull shit! ?WHAT DO YOU THINK?

?THE WORM CAN AND MUST TURN!!? And unfortunately, no one political faction holds the patent upon talent or even corruption for that matter!! A man or woman should (and must again) be judged by what he can do for the nation, and not what the nation can do for him!! (J. F. Kennedy)
