Exclamation In The Eyes Of The World!

With President Bush planning to re-invigorate the ?Conquest Of The Celestial Void (Space)?, the world will again sit up and take notice of our technology and not just our military prowess!

With the Moon and Mars on the table of ideas anew, the people of this planet will once again hear the roar of our rockets as they blast off, on their way to bigger and better things!

?Congratulations Mr. Bush on realizing that there is more to mankind?s destiny that just politics and Earthly ego!? :re:

I agree wholeheartedly with you that once again, the world will join us in marveling in new discoveries, new technologies, new improvements in a multitude of ways that will benefit mankind, not just Americans. OK, let's exclude the French!

I also agree with you.
Wouldn't it be nice to sit on the Moon and rock Iraq with Moony rocks?...or maybe not to rock Iraq just rack a rock...or something.
There's got to be some humor somewhere even if we have to go to Mars to aquire it.
I'm so heart broken of hearing of my fellow Americans being killed or mutilated by people in places as a kid in school I'd never heard of.
Who was it that said you can have piece or you can have freedom but not both at the same time?
GOD bless us all.

Here's a good one for you. Right after Pres. Bush made his speech about going to the moon and Mars a college took a poll. They asked democrats these two questions,
1. "The US has plans to send people to the moon and then to Mars. Do you support such a plan?"
2. "President Bush has plans to send people to the moon and then to Mars. Do you support such a plan?"

The same people were asked each of these questions. They answered Yes to question #1 and No to question #2 by a 2:1 margin.
The only difference between the two questions was that they substituted "President Bush" for "The US".
HUH???
People make no sense to me sometimes.

Why Hell Blues - It will be paid for - by re-allocating some of those billions earmarked for Iraq, of course !! Did you ever hear the one about the "Drunken Swabbie on Leave!"

I would much prefer that the United States do something wholly for the United States - our space program could just be the trick! And who the Hell knows what we may find up there that will benifit our people in the future - our world is, after all, way over extended, and it ain't getting any better!

Default More "Bush"-wah!

Bush seeks billions for religious groups

Thu Jan 15, 1:34 PM ET

NEW ORLEANS, United States (AFP) - US President George W. Bush asked his Justice Department to take steps to release some 3.7 billion dollars in federal monies aimed at helping religious charities, the White House said.

"At the President's direction, the Department of Justice took action to finalize regulations that implement President Bush's policy of ending discrimination against faith-based charities in the Federal grants process," it said in a statement.

The move applies to 3.7 billion dollars, including programs to support victims of crime, the prevention of child victimization, and safe schools, the White House said.

Bush decided one year ago to implement by decree some elements of his controversial "faith-based initiative," which aims to steer funds to religious charities, eroding the traditional separation between church and state. The program was part of the president's 2000 campaign platform, but the divided US Congress has yet to approve it. Hoping to win momentum for the initiative, as well as court black voters who overwhelmingly backed his 2000 rival, Al Gore, Bush visited a New Orleans church he said would benefit from his plan. "This country must not fear the influence of faith in the future of this country. We must welcome faith in order to make America a better place," said the president, who is a regular church-goer.

Question

revwardoc -

"OXYMORONIC AT BEST!!" (opinion)

In one breath, the man removes the Ten Commandments etc from public viewing., and in the next, he helps to allocate funds for religion, thereby narrowing the Separation of Church & State!

I wonder how much of those rebuilding billions to Iraq etc, will be unwittingly utilized by religious radicals? "Ah yes, it must be election year!?"
