For Reservists Called to Duty

In 1999 Senator Kerry introduced the Military Reservists Small Business Act. This landmark legislation, passed as part of the Veterans Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development Act, Public Law 106-50, makes available financial and management assistance to reservists who are called to report for active military duty and must leave their small business, or are key to the operation of a small business.

Because of this law, these men and women now have access to deferred loan payments and interest rate reductions for direct loans. Going even further to help these men and women, the law makes them eligible to apply for disaster loans - officially referred to as Military Reservist Economic Injury Disaster Loans (MREIDLs) -- which provide interim operating capital at low interest rates of 4 percent or less, to help keep the business afloat while the reservist is away from the business serving the country. And to help the family members and employees left behind to manage the finances and run the business, there is counseling and training available.

To apply for an MREIDL, please contact one of the four SBA disaster area offices and obtain an application. Click here for the toll-free numbers.

Is this too much Information for such a short period of time???

I hope not.
