737th Soldiers Come Under Fire

A member of the 762nd Transportation Company, based in Akron, Ohio, runs after a mortar attack on a convoy staging area Tuesday at Camp Streicher, north of Baghdad. Eight members of the 737th Transportation Company have been escorting the 762nd and the 459th transportation companies as they haul military cargo from Kuwait into Iraq this week. The mortar attack occurred in the morning and caused non-serious shrapnel injuries to a driver from each of the 762nd and the 459th companies, but no one from the 737th was injured. Two suspects were later arrested near the large U.S. military camp.
CAMP SPEICHER, Iraq ? The war in the Middle East hit close to home for eight members of the 737th Transportation Company on Tuesday when an insurgent's mortar round struck near their vehicles at a military base in northern Iraq.
Two drivers with Army Reserve units from Missouri and Ohio suffered minor shrapnel injuries, but none of the soldiers from the Yakima-based 737th Transportation Company was injured.
