Boogidy, Boogidy, Boogidy
Las Vegas today 2:30 p.m. EST, Fox TV.
It's a whole new game. Hard tires. Lower spoiler. 1 1/2 mile track. The new race rules of NASCAR are going to finally going to let them go racing and the winner will be the best driver. Now NASCAR get rid of the restrictor plate on the long track and the mechanics will be able to get back in the game too.

Stick
The rules are not even close to being the same for all manufatures.
The rules change all the time, sometimes during the race. The rules as they are , are good for the fans and for the sponcers, They don't have anything to do with how good the drivers are. None of the cars resemble the name plate they have on the car, The cars are put in a wind tunnel and made equal, The Fords can make about 50 horspower more than the Chevys, so the Fords get a slight wind tunnel disadvantage. The Dodges can't make as much horse power as the Chevy so they get to use a none factory head and higher compression and wind tunnel advantage to equal them out with the Fords and Chevys. If you recently started to follow Nascar these things are not evedent, But if you have been following Nascar for more than 10 years you can see whats happening, Again, what Nascar is doing is good for the fans and the sponcers. One race I would like to see Nascar let the manufactures use there own parts, body pannels and let the teams do what ever to the vehicle they wanted. Restrict them to 280 cubic inchs and let them go. Who ever is the best Wins. But that will never happen, Oh yea, I started watching Nascar before it was Nascar. Grand National Stock car racing. Its kind like finding out Pro wresling isn't real. Kinda makes you look at it different. Ron |

There a a lot of people causing traffic jams in Vegas just to watch the show. Friends here make it a weekend party.
In spite of al the rules, nothing sounds the same as roar of the engines and the roar of the crowd when racing starts. Joy Darrel & I went to the Nascar truck races last September.

Nascar and the Casinos
Well, I normally detest it when NASCAR comes to town. Mind you, this is not because I don't like car racing, but because that speedway is just too darned close to work. The traffic gets all snarled up and now that I live closer to where I work, it's simply murder just getting home after a long day at work.
This year, however, was different. For a change, I was off on race weekend, and while all the casinos have seemed to tighten up their video poker machines, I managed to hit a royal flush for $2000. Maybe NASCAR is good for my luck???? *snicker* |

OK guys and dolls. In down town Fayetteville you turn right on South (is there any other direction?) on Jeff Davis Road. Jeff Davis turns into Bridge Rd. when it crosses into Clayton County but in less than a mile it crosses the bridge over the Flint River and the road changes it's name to Hampton Rd. Stay on that for a short while and your next turn is NASCAR where all the noise is and the fastest track in the series. Oh! I forgot to tell ya. Leave early. There's a lot of Damn Yankees down here this weekend and they don't know how to press down on that right pedal on the floor.
